Brass halva

Ingredients
1/2 cup (100 g) rice
1 cup (200 g) sugar
125 g butter
3 egg whites
3 tbsp caster sugar
# For the syrup:
2 and 1/2 cup (500 ml) of water
3/4 cup (150 g) sugar
Method
To rice, previously crushed in a mortar, add the sugar, the butter (melted and left to freeze thereafter) and 1 cup water. The mixture boil on low heat to thicken, stirring constantly. Pour into a greased baking dish with butter a thickness up to 2 cm and bake in the oven until lightly caramelize. Remove from the oven and pour the lukewarm syrup made from sugar and water. As cool halva cut into patches. Serve with beaten with powdered sugar egg whites.
