Submitted by enr on 10 Sep 2008
Ingredients
3-4 slices stale bread
3-4 bananas
4 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
300-400 ml milk
1 vanilla
1 pinch nutmeg
30-40 g butter (margarine)
cream, ice cream or yogurt to garnish
fruit syrup for garnish
Method
No large rectangular pan is coated well with margarine. The bread was cut into slices of 1 thick finger and then in larger cubes. Arrange a layer in the tray (you can use and slices of baguette). Top rank circles of bananas. For the dressing whisk the eggs with the sugar, add a trickle of fresh milk, vanilla and nutmeg. Pour pudding, pressing lightly with a spoon to take the bread topping. If necessary, make up a little more milk. Top put the butter pieces. Allow to stand for 10-15 minutes and then baked at 180 C for 30-40 minutes. Serve warm, but not hot. Cut into triangular pieces, until it puts ice cream, sour cream or yogurt, which are flooded with blackberry syrup (or other fruit of your choice).
