Soup with ham and cheddar

Ingredients
2 cups peeled and diced potatoes
3 cups water
1/2 cup sliced ​​carrots
1/4 cup chopped onions
1 cup frozen peas
3 tbsp flour
3 tbsp butter
2 cup milk
salt and pepper
200 g grated Cheddar cheese
1 cup cubed ham
1 tbsp chopped parsley

Method
Potatoes, carrots, onions and peas are placed in boiling water, reduce heat and cook for 10-15 minutes until tender vegetables. During this time, in another saucepan melt the butter over low heat. Add the flour and fry until golden. Add milk, salt and pepper to taste. Boil for about 2 minutes or until the sauce begins to thicken, stirring continuously. Add the Cheddar cheese and stirred until dissolved. Pour a ham and cooked vegetables with broth in which they are cooked. Once the soup boil remove from heat and sprinkle with parsley.

milniq because I've done the soup I venture to say. More appropriate would be to replace the cheddar with melted cheese than hard cheese. Cheddar although hard cheese melts just as melted cheese and sauce thickens, while the hard cheese as cool will harden again and will not have this effect.
