Fried chervil

Submitted by enr on 08 Apr 2008
Ingredients
2 heads chervil
2-3 eggs
3-4 tbsp milk
flour
breadcrumbs
Salt
vegetable oil for frying
15-20 g butter
Method
Celery is peeled, washed and cut into slices with a thickness of about 0.5 cm. Boil in salted water until soft. Drain in a sieve, then the slices are rolled in flour, dip in thick pancake dough made from beaten eggs, milk, a pinch of salt and flour, and then rolled in breadcrumbs. Breaded slices are fried in a highly heated vegetable oil until light yellow color. Remove to a warm plate and on each put a little butter. Serve as a separate dish with olives and potato salad or as a side dish to fried and grilled meats.
