Nihari (Nihari)

Ingredients
1 kg beef or lamb with bones
3 onions
2 tbsp flour
small piece of dry ginger
1 cinnamon stick
2 small white beans kardamomovi
2 bay leaves
2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp paprika
1 shtipka
nutmeg
1/2 tsp turmeric
salt
2 tbsp fennel
1 tbsp garlic and ginger paste
1/2 cup yogurt
1/2 cup melted butter, Ghee or sunflower oil
Method
Heat the butter, add onion cut in crescents and fry until golden. When the onion is ready remove and drain on kitchen towel. In the same oil fry the meat with garam masala, milk, ginger and garlic paste salt, cayenne pepper, bay leaves, cinnamon and turmeric. Add nutmeg, cardamom and fennel. Stir, add enough water to cover the meat and cook over low heat for about 2-3 hours. When the meat is ready, add the flour and cook another 10 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves, fried onions and hot pepper. Nihari is extremely popular national dish in Pakistan. NIHAR Urdu word means morning so this dish is usually eat early in the morning after Fajr prayer. I offer you my recipe for Nihari so as I prepared my Pakistani mother in law.
