Ingredients
6 cloves
1 large orange
pinch of cinnamon
750 ml dry red wine
1/2 cup sugar
1 and 1/2 cup water
Method
Orange is spiked with cloves and put in a small pan. Bake in the oven at 180 C until brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool, then cut into 8 pieces and put in a saucepan. Add cinnamon, sugar and water. The mixture is allowed to boil and then the hotplate is reduced. Allow to simmer for 15 minutes. Add the wine and let simmer again for a while, but not boil. Strain and serve hot.
