Ingredients
2-3 handfuls of mallow leaves (no stems)
1 cup rice
1 bunch spring onions
4-5 tbsp sunflower oil
salt
pepper or mint
optional - 1 tbsp tomato puree or 200 g canned tomatoes

Method
This dish can be used and leeks, or mix the two types of onions, as I did. chopped onion stew in the heated sunflower oil, then add the washed and chopped down. Stews 1-2 minutes, just long enough to soften and reduce its volume. Add the rice and 2 1/2 - 3 cups hot water and bring to the boil, add salt. Simmer until the rice absorbs the liquid. If you add the tomato puree or tomatoes, they are added when the rice is almost cooked, about ten minutes before removing from heat (tomato paste dissolved in a little water, and tomatoes - passion). When serving sprinkle with pepper or mint. In the picture portion is a combination of two types - white rice and tomato paste.

Go (Malva silvestris) - another zeleniyka - weed, weed, herb - which it wants to call her. But it also became delicious spring dishes. Mallow dignity can substitute spinach, nettles, docks, salt bush in many dishes. I never cease to marvel at how Bulgarian is cooked and still made, especially in the villages, simple but tasty dishes with herbs from the garden and lawn!

Thank you, Petya! A Mallow grows in grassy places, along roads, buildings. High is 30-80 cm blooms with very delicate pale purple flowers with darker longitudinal streaks. Mallow is similar to mallow, but it is up to 2 m high. Its green leaves are similar in shape to the Malvaceae, but become very large. The flowers are pale pink to white. Both are herbs.
