Ingredients
500 g small onions
50 ml wine vinegar
3 tbsp olive oil or sunflower oil
3 tbsp sugar
3 tbsp tomato paste
1 bay leaf
1 tsp salt

Method
Cleaned onions, vinegar, olive oil , sugar, bay leaf and tomato paste is put in a saucepan with 300 ml cold water and add salt. Leave to simmer uncovered until almost all the liquid evaporates. Remove bay leaf and serve at room temperature. Can be served as a salad or side dish.
