Ingredients
1.5 liters of red wine
1 cup blackcurrant juice
1 tbsp lemon zest
1 tbsp grated orange peel
2 cinnamon sticks
5 cloves
5 whole cardamom pods
6 allspice berries (or 1/2 tsp ground)
1 tsp nutmeg
Method
All are mixed in a large saucepan and put on medium stove until the mixture begins to simmer, reduce heat and leave for 20-30 minutes without boiling. Strain and serve hot. You can garnish with lemon slices and cinnamon sticks.
