Submitted by enr on 21 Dec 2008
Ingredients
1/2 cup lentils
1/2 cup rice
1 bunch spring onions
2 bunches of parsley
1 bunch fresh mint
2 tomatoes or tomato paste
2 potatoes
40-50 vine leaves
pepper
pepper
sunflower oil
salt
Method
Insert the lentils in cold lightly salted water, put it on the stove and boil 20 minutes. Discard the water and the first lentils is moved into another pot. Add boiling water or broth and diced potatoes. Boil for 20 minutes. Lentils with a colander and strain the broth remains. In a pan with a little oil fry the lentils, put the tomatoes and finely chopped onions. After 5 minutes, add pepper and paprika. Rinse the rice under running water and also put in the pan. Once the rice absorbs the water, remove from heat and add chopped fresh mint and parsley. The vine leaves are blanched in boiling water to soften. Then allowed to cool. Twist and dolmas are placed close to each other in a saucepan. Add 3 cups by pre-compartments broth or water. Boil until ready. Serve cold with yogurt.
