2-3 handfuls of mallow leaves (no stems)
1 cup rice
1 bunch spring onions
4-5 tbsp sunflower oil
pepper or mint
optional - 1 tbsp tomato puree or 200 g canned tomatoes

This dish can be used and leeks, or mix the two types of onions, as I did. chopped onion stew in the heated sunflower oil, then add the washed and chopped down. Stews 1-2 minutes, just long enough to soften and reduce its volume. Add the rice and 2 1/2 - 3 cups hot water and bring to the boil, add salt. Simmer until the rice absorbs the liquid. If you add the tomato puree or tomatoes, they are added when the rice is almost cooked, about ten minutes before removing from heat (tomato paste dissolved in a little water, and tomatoes - passion). When serving sprinkle with pepper or mint. In the picture portion is a combination of two types - white rice and tomato paste.
