Ingredients
1 onion
2 tbsp Gee or butter
800 g sauerkraut
salt
pepper
1 tsp sugar or honey
125 ml apple juice
125 ml meat broth
2 tsp juniper shisharchitsi
4 steak 200g
3 tbsp sunflower oil
2 apples
1/2 tsp thyme
Method
Cabbage cut into very small pieces. Cut the onion finely and fry in the butter until golden. Add the cabbage and fry briefly. Season with salt and pepper, sugar or honey, pour the apple juice and broth, put the lid and stew about 35 minutes. Juniper shisharchitsi crushed. Steaks are dry, rub with pepper, salt and shisharchitsite. Fry in the oil about 7 minutes. During this time the apples are cut into thin pieces and put together with thyme green. Possibly seasoned again. Cabbage is arranged in bowls, put the steaks, are optional garnish with thyme herb. * Go with mashed potatoes. * Cabbage naturally can be prepared without the steaks as single dish. During Lent is replaced the butter with sunflower oil and meat broth with vegetable.

Very good recipe! Only those shisharchitsi of Kade take them? I have never met such a thing in store for spices.
I buy them here, quite normal. The aroma is gorgeous. And my mother in Sunny Beach gathered them, she knew what was juniper. And I dry them. Held for years.
heels, juniper grow almost anywhere in the lower mountains. Shisharchitsite harvested late fall and are dark purple to black. I put them and boiled, and herbal teas. Just be very careful with the amount, because they are very strong aroma. I pick them itself, but you can buy from herbal pharmacies.
