Ingredients
1 and 3/4 cup peeled, not very finely ground almonds (about 150 g)
3 tbsp flour
finely grated peel of 1 orange (about 2 tbsp)
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp cream
2 tbsp honey (liquid)
5 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
# To decorate:
100 g melted chocolate
Method
Mix the almonds, flour, orange peel and salt in a large bowl . Put the sugar, cream, honey and the butter in a saucepan and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat, add vanilla (if using vanilla powder, add it to the flour) and then add to the almonds and stir well. Leave for about 30 minutes until the mixture cool. Preheat oven to 180 C and bedding tray with baking paper. Pour one heaped tablespoon on paper. With back of spoon shaped like a circle. Leave the cookies between 5-6 cm distance. Bake until golden (about 10-11 minutes). After removing from the oven let the cookies light to harden in the tray for 5 minutes and then remove. After the cookies cool completely optional decorate with melted chocolate in a water bath.
