Submitted by enr on 08 Mar 2009
Ingredients
250 g of onion
200 g peas (fresh or frozen)
400 g fresh feta cheese or low-fat ricotta
4-5 tomatoes
5 tbsp sunflower oil
3-4 cloves of garlic
50 g of ginger paste and grated ginger root
30 g of cumin seeds
2-3 bay leaves
1 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp garam masala or curry
1/2 tsp coriander powder
2 tsp turmeric
Several green chillies peppers
salt
Method
The oil is heated in a deep pan for a few minutes. Add the cumin, bay leaves, chopped onion, crushed garlic and ginger paste. Mix well and fry until the onion becomes golden. Then add cayenne, garam masala, coriander and turmeric. Mix well and leave for a few minutes to absorb flavors. Add the finely chopped chillies, chopped peeled tomatoes and peas. Add salt to taste, then pour 2-3 cups water and curry powder to the boil, then reduce heat and let simmer until ready. Before you remove from heat and add the feta cheese - cut into small cubes and simmer for a few minutes.

The recipe is from our friend Vibu who is Indian - specifically for the site Happy Chef :)

This will be great with cheese paneer

In the original cheese is breaded, but BG is hard to find and therefore may be replaced with another fresh cheese :)
