Layered cake of semolina

Ingredients
6 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup semolina
zest of 1 lemon
# For the syrup:
1 and 1/2 cup sugar
2 and 1/2 cup water
1 cup rum
powdered sugar for sprinkling
Method
Yolks are beaten with sugar until fluffy cream. Then meal in a thin stream and stirring continuously. Add grated lemon rind and beaten egg whites. Pour the mixture into a greased and sprinkled with flour form cake. Bake in moderate oven warmed. While cool, prepare the syrup from all products by mixing on medium heat - not too thick. The cake is pricked with a fork and pour the syrup. Quickly replace the lid to absorb better the syrup and when cool, sprinkle with plenty of icing sugar.
