Mary, I wrote in the forum - the original recipes are no set amounts and recipes above - as they are now tested by archaeologists. And they still orient taste habits and possibilities of that time 2000 years ago:-)
Mary, your question does not leave me alone:-) So far, digging around the internet. Archaeologists have come to the conclusion that it is a bay leaves, having in mind the purpose of bread - bay (laurel) tree also has religious significance, so that the dish was proper for the gods would be made of leaves.
