Banitsa cherry

Ingredients
250 g fine filo pastry sheets
500 g cherries
3/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp breadcrumbs
1 vanilla
4-5 tbsp sunflower oil
Method
Sour cherries are cleared of stones mixed with sugar, vanilla and breadcrumbs and mix. Half of sheet arrange in greased pan with sunflower oil, sprinkle with being fat. Insert the filling of cherry and cover with remaining pastry, also sprinkled with fat. The banitsa Spread top with remaining sunflower oil and bake in a moderate oven.

Can you make with dried cherries, soaked in boiling water? I have a whole bag of dried cherries but I missed the season for fresh. I do not yaaka next year, and rarely find here fresh sour cherries. :(
