Ingredients
whole grains cumin
whole grain black mustard
1 onion
2 carrots
1 tomato
1 hot pepper optional
1 bay leaf
pepper, salt
pepper 1
150 g rice
150 g red lentils
sunflower oil
Method
Cumin, black mustard, chopped onions, carrots and tomato (optional and chopped chili pepper) fry in the oil. Add bay leaf, pepper, chopped pepper and well washed rice and lentils. Pour boiling water to cover two fingers above products. Boil stirring periodically in about 20 minutes or until the rice and lentils cooked. Kitcheri means a mixture of two grains or beans. Usually combine rice and mung given (lentils).

mix rice with everything, but just with a red lentils had not occurred to me very nice to get this food
